cassette decks can be messy to fully disassemble. Sounds like you picked up some bargains anyway.

Yea.....The Denon CD player is nice. The Technics deck is marginal but, at least it plays. On the other hand, the deck may be better than I think and the old tapes have lost more high end than I expected. Then again, I may be spoiled from listening to digital based music.
