concur on the reading of 91.6deg.
Although I took a slightly different tack to get that figure. Visualizing geometry involves a perspective unless one is born with perfect geometric perception.

My method:
(124.68deg) - (58.53) = 66.15
66.15 / 2 = 33.075

58.53 + 33.075 = 91.605

my way is longer but it helped me to visualize that I was measuring from tonearm side.

anyway, the microscope pics look great. You must be quite close to the optimal SRA. Although listening to well known records helps to confirm the adjustment.

Cool setup.

Pretty much finished restoring my SP10, recapped and faulty phase drive transistors replaced, this was a p/l version but I managed to get my hands on a regular logic board to restore start/stop easily.

Trouble I'm trying to crudely set the speeds but 33 and 45 rpm wont set on the strobe, its nearly there but its still moving, the pot wont adjust anymore, 78rpm is rock solid.
Could anyone help me with where to look?

Thanks

MKII or 2A? You need an oscilloscope to align the PLL - no way around that.

It's a mk11, I know I need a scope to set it properly but surely it should be settable by eye using the strobe as well?

That's not how it was designed.

The service manual is available at Vinyl Engine, download it. There are a few capacitors you need to replace, see post #29 -- The Incredible Technics SP-10 Thread

Yep, and I have the service manuals.

As I said it has been recapped unless theres some ploy caps that need replacing? Just wondering if the slight movement on the strobe was classed as normal at 33/45 rpm as well as the the inability to set it to 'still' as it is possible on 78rpm?

Those pots do not set the speed, they align the PLL.

Just got hold of my third 10/2, it has a problem though......switch the thing on and the platter spins fast....then faster......then faster still until it can be used as a drone. I've narrowed the problem down to the logic board 'cause when I fit the board from my 10/2PL it works albeit with no stop/start function. Is this one of the unrepairable ones or something that can be resurrected?
