Very nice!
We did Barry Dillers (Fox Broadcasting creator) staircase and other locations in his house out of this hardwood.
Very nasty edge splinters created if not cut approiately.
Very dead material in solid form.

Regards
David

I can vouch for that!!!
I got 1 splinter that went through the tip of my finger when I was sanding the first armboard.

I've a few more things to do first, mainly for the diyAudio store, then it will be at the top of the queue.

We need to talk about your priorities...

I'm reversing my plinth repair to get better alignment, and try gelcoat repair to hide the brake lines. It'll turn out great, or be a complete disaster.

I'm the only one who knows about that adventure so far... you need to post some photos and tell the story, it's awfully interesting.

Yesterday afternoon I finally worked up the courage to mount my Koetsu Urushi Black. After a couple hours I have it pretty close. This afternoon I'll get out the USB microscope camera and better dial in the SRA (Stylus Rake Angle).

The cartridge is beautifully but a little weird how it hangs so far over the headshell, at least to me.

Sounds great and I'm having fun playing and listening.

For those interested I set the SRA this afternoon with an inexpensive (eBay $60) USB microscopic camera and an IOS app. Took a bit to get everything set up. But basically you lay a CD on the edge of the platter and set the needle down. Then set the camera close to the cart (1/4") and adjust focus on screen with laptop and with adjusting lighting get the horizontal line of the CD in pic for reference.

After sending the image to my iPad I used a protractor app to measure the stylus.

So in one pic I have 58.53 and the other I have 124.68. So add the two together = 183.21 then divide by 2 = 91.6. Pretty close to the spec of 92.

At least I think I did it right, newbie and all!
