Sure, if you have no other way to get the signal you want out of the amp. But OP isn't talking about a kilowatt guitar amp. It's (if I understood correctly) a powered mixer, which surely has better options readily available.
Also, don't forget to run balanced at both ends. A 30 foot run is long enough for the two pieces of gear to be on separate AC lines. That's the place to start if you have a noise issue. In pro sound, running SE is only considered as a desperate, last ditch effort when all other options are utterly unworkable .. and still considered a *sin* -- to be watched carefully, expecting it to give troubles ..
