Fake Log Linear Potentiometer used as a Shunt Volume Control

Is there any way a linear potentiometer can be adapted to "fake log" and used as a shunt volume control please? Grateful for some advice!

Many thanks. I have done that-lots on law faking and shunt design, but I could not find anything on using a law faking pot in a shunt design.

Short answer: no.

Cheesy "Log faking" only "works" (sort of) in a variable voltage divider role (the classic way to use it) by heavily loading the wiper to ground section with a resistor 10% to 20% the pot resistance.

That action is useless in a shunt or NFB gain control.

EDIT: I make Guitar amps and small PA heads, use shunt gain controls for Distortion and Mic inputs respectively, and after much fruitless experimenting had to order Log/Audio pots, period.
