Shure wireless mic UHF-R mod help.

Hi All.


I have this UHF-R from Shure. It´s the last all analog, latency free wireless they made. It´s from 2005 and I am thinking that it might bee possible to upgrade et a bit. I would really appriciate your thoughts on this.


The main component is the THAT coorperation 4320 preamp,comp,VCA limiter and the same 4320 in the reciever as expander. I can´t see anything better and I will leave that in.


But - in the reciever there are something like 10 "33178 PELV". That looks like an opamp I could change - or what? And to what? And how do I find the specs for the PELV so I can be sure that the replacement will fit? Because of the 4320 expander it will be bad to tamper with the levels - at least before the expansion.

My advice:

As long as they work properly, don't modify anything, just realize that those are a staple in the entertainment industry, there is a reason why.

It took Shure many years to perfect the radio mic system. With all due respect, I don't think, (obvious from your lack of knowledge), that you could improve on the design and performance.
