Default Preamp for Icepower and Minidsp

Not sure if this is the right place, but I need to figure out a preamp solution that can go between a Minidsp and the Icepower 125asx2 in an active speaker build. Ideally, I'd like to have it fit into the speaker enclosure with the amp. The Icepower has 24v DC auxiliary power available. Any recommendations for a small preamp board with some gain?

Hi
According to Datasheet:
Vin channel 1 , Vin channel 2
Maximum voltage range on pin
3.3 Vp

That means a preamp output not exceeding that voltage. What is the max output voltage of your Minidsp?
In any case my preamp can run with regulated voltage from the 24V unregulated auxiliary power supply. However, you need voltage regulators and you would need a minimum of 50ma current draw par channel.

USSPA Build thread

Gain can be set by ratio of resistors.

I use a PCA (SE Class A) as a preamp on my miniDSP. It gives just the right amount of gain (14dB) and a nice sound signature that makes a dry sounding Class D amp connected to the miniDSP sound like a nice 25W Class A amp.

Needs clean 18v to 19v power suppy. An LM7818 from 24v is perfect.

Really sorry to ask a stupid question, but what is a PCA? I've been seeing this TLA a lot lately, since I chanced upon Yarra and Melbourne.

Update: is it Pocket Class A? Is it a common noun or a proper noun?

Pocket Class A (my SE Class A headphone amplifier design - just an acronym but sort of became a name everyone calls it by).

Then you need a preamp gain of about 2.6 to get your max power amp input. I would recommend a gain of about 3 or 4 to cope for the lower level recordings.
