Guys where are you procuring the matched 2SK2013/313 mosfets either for this preamp or Fab's USSA5 power amp build. The only known source to me was member liubincalvin from Singapore, who seems to be inactive now since some months now. Any other source to get these hard to find power mosfets?

Thanks

Hi Fab,
I received the USSPA pcb’s today, thank you.
Very quick shipping from Canada!!
My aluminum chassis will not arrive for a couple of weeks so I threw together this little wooden case, it will have an aluminum front panel also. :)

Sorry I can’t tell from this advertising only. I cannot see the mention about the matching and even so I rarely trust eBay sellers unless I already had good experience with them before or the sellers have a good reputation based on buyers you know. The difficulty is more in finding a seller you can trust....

I suppose you need these mosfet for the USSA5 since the USSPA version 2 can be built with Sanken bjt output instead of these mosfet.

Try the bottom link in nicmac signature to see availability Of the mosfet:
FS: Matched 2SK2013, 2SJ313, IRFP240 and IRFP9240 pairs for the VFET amp build

Yes you are right, I need those 2N and 2P matched quad set for the USSA5 amp build and not for the preamp.

Unfortunately, there are hit and misses when buying these mosfets online.

I have bought 2 pair J74/K170 NP matched, upon receiving them, i found out the J74 wasn't even printed on the device, and it got smooth rounded corners all over.

Then i did a idss check, it wasn't even close to one another, however while inside the circuits, they sounded fine, so i got no way to determine if the actual Toshiba's matched J74/K170 will sound any better or a lot better.

Good luck sourcing them.

Yes it is more and more difficult to obtain these mosfet compared to last year (pcb group buy) since there were plenty available...
Maybe It is possible that you could buy a quad set from someone who has quit to build the ussa5 after one year.... but for that I suggest that you put your request in the ussa5 group buy or review thread.

Thanks Fab, NicMac replied to me that he has some left overs based on your link that you have provided and the below sets are available in quad set.

Y26 Q167 241 428 519 972 2.39 2.39 2.39 2.39 71 707 53 21 853 2.13 2.13 2.13 2.13 Available

Y43 Q194 880 266 294 723 2.44 2.43 2.43 2.43 144 147 43 1113 145 2.22 2.22 2.21 2.21 Available

Which among these above 2 quad sets seems to be good for the USSA5 amp? Also realized as per BOM that I just need a pair of each of 2sk2013 and 2sk313. Hence I think a quad set (2 pairs of 2sk2013 and 2 pairs of 2sk313) may not be required. Am I presuming right?

Thanks

Ussa5 mosfet drivers

Hi manniraj
These are octal thus 2 quad match of nnnn and pppp.
The second octal Y43 is a bit more matched and highest vgs off could potentially provide a marginally higher damping factor.
I think there is another new builder (nikosokey) that may be looking for a quad also so you may contact him to possibly share the octal....just a thought.
