Default preamp some advice please

i would like to build a preamp...
reason: i had a tube (gain 1.1) in my system and it sounded better.

one could say: your system is not good: i guess he's right. it might be that a system which has decent components all the way does not need a preamp. a input selector and volume put is always needed in my system (cd player, tapedeck, tuner...)

my system:
dac: gamma 1 /smsl m6
amp: t-amp charlize
speakers: kit: bookshelf: revelator 8" and tweeter

Still i do like the sound of a tube preamp with an solid state or digital amp behind it. running a power amp with tubes is quite costly since the hifi is on 16h a day in the house.

what i'm looking for: A kit, i'm not good enough to do these things on my own. a one stop kit-amp or can also be an amp that is made up out of small kits.

input selector: i will just go with a classical relais switchboard and input selector, plenty kits but not shure which are cherished.

volume pot: ; can be a analog pot like alps; a resistor ladder via relais; or a ldr controlled by an arduino. from what i red the ldr has the advantage over the ladder and analog pot. haven't seen a true kit online. on this forum huge treads with bom... but not yet a kit.

amp: preferable a tube, the simpler the better; a buffer stage no gain needed; kits all over internet: aikido to bottlehead... since it is gonna be a simple design i could hard wire this, so a kit is not really necessary.

complete kits
Elekit TU-8500 is something that looks great, for that price a second hand shiit freya is possible....

thanks in advance

You can build Discrete Dynamics fully discrete Class A preamp. It comes as fully soldered board with onboard power supply, headphone jack and volume pot. You only need to make connections for transformer and signal.
It sounds so good FS Discrete Dynamics DIY Class A Preamp modules
