Hi I am restoring / rejuvenating a Crimson CK1080 power amp and its pre-amp. I have the build instructions for the power amp but no schematics for either.
I think I bought the pre-amp and built the power-amp. I built an offboard power supply around 7815/7915 regs following letters exchanged with Mr Powell.
When first connected up there was a quiet popping noise from the speakers so it was all promptly disconnected. Running just the power amp means there's no popping so I assumed it was the pre-amp / its power supply. In checking that it seems that the pre-amp is taking about 20mA on one rail but 120mA on the other rail.
hence my request for schematics and any advice gratefully received.
