Hello from Estonia to everyone! I have a sauna project in progress that got out of hand
I have 3 sets of speakers to control (sauna, lounge and outside) and I wanted them to be individually controlled but one audio source. So I got 2 cheap aliexpress amplifiers (for sauna and outside, lounge has proper amplifier) and thought that this is it but nooo the idea evolved. I wanted to see sauna and hot tub temperatures from one place and also control speakers on/off and volume and hot tub filling/emptying. So I used arduino+nextion touch screen to control everything. Switched analog potentiometers on amplifiers with switch to digital pot and relay, two DS18B20 sensors to monitor sauna and hot tub temperature, two 12v solenoids (1 for filling and 1 for emptying) controlled with relays and water level sensor to shut off the water when tub is full. So I coded everything on arduino using pieces of code found on the internet and everything works like a charm except one thing. I used 2 MCP42100 dual digital potentiometers, one for each amplifier and I get huge distortion on sound when incoming audio levels are higher. I use bluetooth receiver and iPhone to transfer audio when I lower the volume on my phone everything is fine. Now I have to mention that this is my first project with arduino, amplifiers and digital potentiometers etc, piecing this together by experimenting. Can someone help me with this distortion issue?
