Good, simple preamplifier

Hi.
I'm building Pavel Macura mosfet power follower. Project 83 - MOSFET Power Follower

In article it's written: 'How does it sound? Wonderful, regardless low or high volume. Entire spectrum from bass to high is perfect. It only needs a good preamplifier.'

In article death of zen is mentioned as good preamplifier for it. Do you have any idea of other preamplifier I would use or maybe DOZ is still best option?

I like Figure 7 of the LSK389 application note, very much (.pdf link). Only you can decide whether it is adequately simple.

That's a nice phono stage, but he needs a line stage with gain, since the amp is a power buffer with no gain.

This is an excellent and simple preamp that can drive any amplifier. Even 0dB gain ones.

DCB1 or the BA-3

I love my DCB1 but it's wrong for this application, it has no voltage gain. I am told that most power amps have about 26 dB of voltage gain, so a preamp driving a follower would need that much or more.
