Typically how these inputs work is:

1/ one can get a signal to the woofer by stealing the full-range signal off of the satellites, which play FR.

or

2/ the input to the satilittes can be sent thru a passive capacitor (typically bipolar elso) that is intended to roll-off the bass to the satellite. Since this is not very effective i never use it.

I have used the 1st version in a pinch, something i call the REL method as that is what they advocate, but i prefer a high-pass on the satelitte as that leads to a better midrange (and top if the sat is a FR). The 2nd i will not use. Trying to do a high-pass with an unknown cap (and a mediocre one at that) down near where the resonance peak of the driver/box is is fraught with issues.

If all you want to do is filter off a subwoofer signal something like this will do it cheaply and you only need to supply a 12v power supply.
