I'm bi-amping and using a LR 24dB 2-way crossover Linkwitz-Riley Electronic Crossover The subs are 86dB and main speakers are 92dB. I'm planning to match the levels. I'm building the out put buffer mentioned on that link as "Figure 3 - Buffer Stage. One Per Output Needed" Do I need to match voltage gain or power gain? Thanks.
If the speakers are the same impedance.
The main speakers are 6dB more sensitive than the low bass speakers.
That means they sound just as loud with half the voltage.
Thus they need an amplifier that is rated at 25% power (6dBV less than the low bass amplifier).
The gain of the respective amplifiers need to be set to make the speakers sound the same and thus for an equal input voltage the gain of the bass only is set to twice as high as the main speaker amplifier. i.e. if gain of the main is +27dB, then the bass needs a gain of +33dB
