I'm new to these electronic circuits, and this might be my first time trying to understand an electronics circuit diagram.
I have broken the working circuit into three stages and sections, to help break up this information up for reading comprehension, and handling.
Anything italicized I`m not sure about and would like confirmation of
and if there is any part i am mistaken in, please explain the difference to me.
I would like to make a tutorial or thread, explaining to other people like myself, how these things work, so that contemporaries in this matter will have more resources to help repair our units, for replacing components or controllers, and this thread might help other owners and perspective owners out.
Also, I'm working on developing a solution myself to share with people, and explains, so that other can work from that, but at this stage I could use help of the community.

Section 1: Power Management Stage
power negative comes into control pod from pin 4
power positive comes into control pod from pin 5
power negative is ground to pcb/chassis
power negative runs to a 10.2k resistor
power negative set to led negative terminal
power positive is split
to run to the led
and
to the on and off switch
negative connects back to power ground pin 4 (I assume)
power positive is run from the switch to pin 15

1.
what do they mean by pot sw?

if so, I thought the switch was before this point, in order to turn off the led?

Path 1 section 2 Solution: Audio signals line in, channel volume control, amplifier accommodation, and line out
left and right audio signals, negative and positive, line into control pod
from the 3.5mm plug connection
negative is ground to chassis and/or pcb and shield?
negative signal is split to left and right
left negative signal goes to 0.01uf capacitor (104k)
right negative signal goes to 0.01uf capacitor (104k)
• these might not be the correct figures.. but should be good enough?
• this is consistent with a third party replacement control pod i have disassembled.
left negative signal is connected the negative post of a dual-unit logarithmic potentiometer's negative left channel

right negative signal is connected to the negative post of the dual unit logarithmic potentiometer's negative right channel
left positive signal is connected to the positive post of the dual unit logarithmic potentiometer's positive left channel
right positive signal is connected to the positive post of the dual unit logarithmic potentiometer's positive right channel
negative signal is tied back to common/ground
common negative signal is then sent to pin 3 of the control pod line-out
left positive signal is connected to pin 12 of the control pod line-out
right positive signal is connected to pin 6 of the control pod line-out
lines from the control pod line-out are sent to the active-preamplifier section

why does it look like negative signals are connected from ground to the positive signals after exiting the capacitor?
• is this the case?
• or what does the diagram properly read

is the dual unit potentiometer ALPS 10k(total) (5k per channel?) or (10k per channel?) potentiometer?
is total resistance declaration meaning total resistance per channel?

With the capacitors labeled as optional, are they really optional for safety?

RK097 Series - Basic information
for example if this is a 6 pin potentiometer, then the common positive is split before connecting to the left and right channels of the potentiometer
and then common positive is rejoined after?
or by the unit itself?
All together, sorting through all of this, searching online and reading about resistors has made this seemingly simple matter, a challenge. But since i had seen it made no simpler before, i figure it was worth the effort to try to get to the bottom of this, myself to offer others a maybe simpler explanation, once I understand everything here
