I have a CM108 based USB audio adapter with separate 3.5mm audio/mic jacks. I want to use this with headphones with an inline mic that has a 3.5mm TRRS plug.

I know I can just buy an adapter, but I have the parts to make one for free. I'm just confused on the wiring for the mic. The TRRS plug just has two pins for the mic (mic output, gnd) but the mic input of adapter has three pins (mic input, mic bias, gnd).

The important question: Do I just use the mic input pin, or do I tie the input and bias pins together? Bias pin voltage measures around 4.4V if that matters.

Tie bias and signal together (simplex power).

This assumes it is an Electret mike. There's almost no other kind today.
