Just checking the dimensions of my modushop (still wrapped) box and a trial layout for boards and transformers. Lots of room to work with.

Bags of space. Enjoy the build.

Same case you used Marra, thanks for the recommendation :)

Are you planning to leave the heatsink lying flat with fins up and the hot devices bolted onto one fin?

The sink should be stood up to let air pass up between the fins.
The hot devices get bolted to the back plate.

Jim50hertz 29th July 2017 03:51 PM

No, I'm either going to cut it to fit the case and have the back plate vertical with the devices attached or have the backplate facing upwards with the devices attached as I've seen others do.

fins pointing down (backplate facing up) is the worst for heatsink performance.

Jim50hertz 29th July 2017 04:39 PM

Vertical it is then :)

Bolt it to the 3 or 4mm thick aluminium lid with thermal goop in the interface. Then the lid helps keep the sink cooler and does not heat the interior too much.

Like it, I'll look into this, thanks for the tip Andrew

My Audio Technica ATH-R70x cans run at 470ohms. Do I want a higher bias setting? My Teabag kit allows for 7.5r or 12r for r10
