yamaha amp no powe switching on then off

Hi everyone I'm new here I'm having a problem with a yamaha rx-v459 amp.it was first dead(no power). I replaced cap 223k 630v with same value now it switches on then off. If I put it in diagnostic mode it gives me TMP prt000h it is not showing voltage for ps2-000 where do test for ps2 voltage your help will be appreciated?

The error message already hints it: one of the voltages is missing. A too high current is very likely to be ruled out because then it would start up the electronics but won't leave protection mode because a defect output transistor of such a class A/B amp would result in a DC offset at the output, which triggers the protection. I would look into the voltages and voltage regulators first.

The service manual can be found here if you don't already have it.

Hold the 'DIAG MODE' buttons for >3 seconds. If the amp remains powered up, scroll (backwards) through the DIAG MENU to item 'PROTECTION HISTORY' (20) and note/post the 4 PRT errors.

Other clues may be available from DIAG MENU items 17 and 22 (access the sub-menus).

Conveniently, most of the PS2 voltages are available on the solder side of the connector at the right-hand end of the black ribbon cable.

:att'n:** CAUTION **:att'n:
The pins are extremely close to each other. One slip of the probe will cause irreparable damage! 😱

Good Luck!

EDIT: Upon closer inspection, it seems that the black ribbon cable is NOT present in the RX-V459. Apologies...

:lifesavr: C3015 replacement X2 suggestion. :lifesavr:

Hi everyone sorry for the delay SOLVED in my haste I had put my ribbon cable the wrong way which caused no power???? Now for the OrIginal problem-the set was dead-- replaced cpicitor 223k 630v the set came on but went off - put set in diagnostic mode it gavea tmp prty error meaning a fault to do with the thermal sensor or above average temperature. In this case tmp prty 000 meant the thermal sensor was sensing ( 0)degrees checked further ps2 prty 000 no voltage from powersupply 2 which comes from the regulators.so the thermal sensor wasn't receiving voltage that's why it couldn't read the temperature of the heatsink-SOLUTiON-- after I replaced the cap I DID NOT screw the standby board down breaking the ground between the standby board and the mainboard causing the ps2 voltage to be 000. RULE yamaha amps must have all their ground screws connect Thanks Hamish 119 , ICG and JonSnell Electronic appreciated thanks!!!

I succeded repairing my dead rx-v459 thanks to this thread.
Replaced the cap and after a lot of grey hairs managed to reset the amp to stop it from shutting down..

Holding my thumbs it lasts since i’m out of a job..
