Hi, I'm going to try and build Pedja's DAC.

Am looking for a TDA1541A and CS8412-CP - please let me know if you have some to sell.

Also, are there meant to be some special versions that are better than others?

If you think, you can use the CS8414-CS with an adapter instead of CS8412...
The 8414's sound is better on 44.1kHz (CD), and the price is great...
(about $10) and pin-compatible...😉

Good hint. I wonder how you did learn that the 8414 does sound better for CD.
Could you point out a European - or other - source for the 8414 complete with an adapter?

I saw in a topic so somebody tried the CS8414 instead of CS8412, after ELSO KWAK also tried that, and sounds better...😉

I found a very nice price of CS8414: $2.40

I don't know any european seller, only the farnell, but this is very expensive...about £8...

I made the adapters for myself...it is very easy...but you can find from BrownDog...(http://cimarrontechnology.com/)

Interesting option; I first might need to train my skills to solder smd. An smd-capacitor for decoupling here and there I can manage already. I'll search for some hints on the forum.
