Basically, i messed up my order at digikey and got the wrong capacitors. i need 5 of these suckers, that cost a couple of pennies each but no one will ship them to me for less than 12 + handling charges, so basically 25$ for 50 cents of parts :bigeyes:

basically im looking for a good samaritan that can help me out. if you have these lying around or are making an order to an electronics place, can you send me 10 of these? (grand total of 42 cents)

1uF, ceramic, 0603, 16v, 10%

I've got some 1uF 25V ceramics in 1206 and some 0.47uF 25V ceramics in 0805. You could parallel two of the 0.47uF caps to get close to 1uF and 0805s should be able to fit on 0603 pads unless your 0603 footprints are special.

I may even be able to scrounge some at work tomorrow, although 1uF in an 0603 package isn't something we would normally have on hand...

thanks for the help. problem is my SMD soldering skills are amature at best. i dont think i would be able to parellel caps. :xeye: especially that the pads are pretty dam small on this pcb...

if you can scrounge at work, i would be so thankful. 😀

You've got a good pair of tweezers right? Just stack one on top of the other and grab both by the sides with the tweezers. Then position it on the pads while still holding them with the tweezers, get some solder on your iron tip, and put a blob on one side of the caps and the pad. It can be ugly and you'll come back and redo it after soldering the other side nicely. It's not hard at all, just takes a little practice.

Don't get your hopes up me finding one tomorrow. I can't remember ever using a 1uF 0603 cap on any of the products we make...

would an 0805 even fit tho? the pads seem pretty small to fit a larger size. im pretty much a noob with smd soldering. and its okay if its not a perfect job either. just need it to work.
