I could use some help, I'm stumped.
I have a dual S50 HPS 250w setup, with philips 4000k, 90 CRI HPS Retro Metal Halide bulbs. Basically two ceramic metal halide bulbs, like a pulse start metal halide that runs on HPS ballasts.
Here's the problem, 90% of the time when I fire them up, only 1 will ignite.
I have 2 suspicions:
1) ballast to bulb length, The Advanced Ballast spec sheet says 2 feet, mine is 10 feet. It was ~15 feet, and I shortened it to 10 feet each from ballast box to bulb. Didn't help 🙁
2) wiring is toooo common, I basically have 1 power cord for both ballasts... maybe it's igniting only 1 bulb and ignoring the other one? resistance?
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks, Bill
