starting school in England is a harrowing experience for most kids, because the start so early in life, that their motoric system is not developed enough to even hold a pencil properly. Then the feel a failure already from day 1.
Mainly because they are then sorted into stupid and not so stupid, by their teachers and given attention accordingly. This selective education of children continues all the way through schoollife, until they finally can decide, if they want to go to Oxford or Cambridge.
Or decides that education sucks and wont bother with it.
Thats why I moved back to Denmark, when she reached school-age, which is 6 in DK.
Hi and i see.
Maybe the ideal solution is to study in English with the Danish educational style ? could be i do not know of course.
I am more focused on language as a way to communicate concepts and information
I think that to have an "efficient" language should be a priority for humanity.
I cannot understand languages based on signs ... i wonder how efficient they are but i have no clue.
I would love a well designed language. Functional.
One case that puzzles me are the "exceptions to rule".
There must be a very strong reason to deviate from a rule.
When i asked to an english collegue why children and not childs he was not able to give me a convincing reason.
Something without a reason is just that ... unreasonable.
English without exceptions to the fantastically smart rules is the global solution. I am sure of that.

Thats why latin was the original language, when scientists had to read eachothers papers and discuss them.

by way of Irish monks they were the teachers during the dark ageslatin in Europe after the dark ages.
Egypt is Africa, sure some knowledge came from them, but not the Greeks left them credit

To kids it doesn't matter. They will switch between languages as second nature, according to who they speak to
Ok ... let's leave kids to their cartoons.
Here in a sailing things shop i saw a poster that made me think a lot indeed.
It was a poster with many kind of different fishes depicted.
Below the picture of the fish there were its names in different languages.
Do you see the perversion ?
to name an identical thing humanity as invented tenth of different names.
And some are quite similar ... but still different.
Even almost 20 names to identify the same f.......k fish 😡
I am also allergic to fish meat ...
The need for a global language is everywhere.
Let's just use English without exceptions to rules and stop playing with hundreds of different languages. We can keep them for family talks.
In this way English people will get a nervous breakdown ... 😉

This is an interesting subject.
Although nobody is making a statement about Russian, Spanish.
Even though Russian langauge is not as popular in the western world, it is quite popular in former soviet countries.
Why, I think the reason is because it was taught as a main language in many countries during the Soviet times. As a result generations of people are speaking their own languages and Russian along with it.
In the kids world, as long as the language gives you the communication freedom this is the good choice. Although it is important to stick to your roots and remember who you are and language plays a crucial role in this.
Even in Asia English is becoming a common language because it is widely used as an international language.
I think we can split the world in several classes:
1. Chinese speakers.
2. Spanish Speakers
3. English speakers
4. Russian speakers.
If the person lives in the area of influence of each particular langauge they tend to learn it because it allows them to effectively communicate with each other and neighboring countries.
As Chinese and Russian are more complicated they are harder to master and hence they are represented in the countries where they are taught at schools.
While international English (not the real one, a simplified version of it) is widely used across the world especially in Europe and in countries which don't have a common language like Asia.
Saying that International version of English becomes simplified and adopted with local Jargon while the real English is more used by the British people. And it is getting the fate of other languages replaced by international English.
It is used only by the people who are living in Britain and partly forgotten or replaced by International English.
Overall there is the tendency for the unified regional langues over the world, which are common for some areas.

In biology everything has just one proper name.
And it is in LATIN
Russian is not Latin 🙂)) Mongolian do share Cyrilic alphabet, although the language they are using is completely different.
Although if we go back to Babylon we used to share the same language 🙂
Yikes Lutefisk, Norway is not in your future for sureEven almost 20 names to identify the same f.......k fish 😡
I am also allergic to fish meat ...

Russian is pretty good at spelling things as they are pronounced. Bulgarian even better, as you know. One would hope no Slavic language ever becomes global. True grammatical torture! Worse than German, even.
FWIW, German pronunciation and spelling are absolutely consistent. It is an amazingly easy language in that respect. The grammar can be slightly intimidating, but all in all, it was a reasonably easy language to learn well enough to have conversations and use in my day to day work.
Speaking of kids: some years ago, I was working from time to time in Luxemburg. I stayed at the apartment of one of my engineers, a Vietnamese guy with perfect, unaccented English and French. We ran into his neighbors out in the hall one day, and they had their little girl with them, perhaps 7 years old. She was chattering with them in Luxembourgeoise. She smiled at my engineer and started talking with him in French (I did not speak or understand French at that time); after a minute he laughed, then said something to her. She smiled, turned to me, and then told a joke in German (it was a pun involving Helmut Kohl and cabbage). Absolutely effortless. I hated her immediately. And don't get me started on the Dutch.
