Over the weekend I ordered a pair of UCD180HG modules and their SMPS400A180 power supply. OK, I figure they are designed to work with each other, and 400W should be enough for two modules, even counting efficiency.
Then I noticed on the datasheet that if I run the SMPS at 115V, I can only get 140W out of the UCD180 module (at 1% distortion). What is up with that? And what would happen if I now use two modules? So do I have to use a 115 -> 230 transformer to squeeze the last 45W out of my modules? Or am I better off getting some other SMPS?
