I used to make all sorts of widgets using these Philips 50 watters and last week one of my chickens came home to roost, and noticing my spares stash was almost dry, I tried to buy some more. RS & E14 - nada, Findchips - nada. These things have disappeared as thoroughly as a Pinochet era dissident. Why ???.

They are a bit worse than LM3886/76...
I still got few of them in my diy surround 5 channel amp wich uses 5 of them but they put out alot of heat...

So i think their time is over and theres many "better" chips

on a romanian forum people were saying that this is the best chip amp ever,much better than lm3886,but i must be an original chip whit a very good layout.
You can get them from old philips blck and white tvs
