Well here I go again with another project on my hands. I was wondering what dye could I use on the fostex Fe 126en drivers to change the color to pink? This is for my daughter and her smallish room. She has asked me if I could make the cones pink? I thought about using food coloring or rite fabric dye? Also I have used black ink in past times to dye the cone black. Will this hurt the cones coating or add mass to the cones? Thanks Jm

If the colourant is too "thin" you will deform the cone. Modpodge with food colouring is primarily what i use.

The dyes in food colourings are generally chosen for their safety rather than colour-fastness. I suggest using cold-water fabric dye. I also suggest using an artist's airbrush to apply it rather than a brush. Mask off the cone and apply several light "mists", allowing to dry between each coat. Otherwise, consider a pink grille cloth. Suitable pink net material is readily available at most fabric shops, it is commonly used for children's ballet costumes.
Better to make enclosures pink, because it would be great combination with that original Fostex cone colour 🙂
maybe you could add some aluminium to make it more interesting
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
