hello all!
in my never ending search for parts and pieces and surplus stuff, i picked up 5 1.2kva isolation transformers. they are pretty beefy and well made. they have mounting brackets and all.
is there any use for these? what would one use these for? if anyone needs one, they are for sale. i actually picked them up with a lot of other surplus stuff, so i just didnt want to pass them up. at the time i didnt know they were isolation xformers.
so, any ideas of what to do with them?

They use power transformers. And an isolation transformer works fine in that service.
If these were mine, I'd be planning out an OTL. If they'll work at 220V, I'd use them for a B+ supply for a 6336/6528/6080 type transformer coupled amp.

Looking at the spec sheet, if you use the secondary as the primary, then series the two primary windings, you've got something suitable for a 280V supply. With 220V in to the secondary, you're up to a 450V supply, perfect for that massively-paralleled EL34 unit...
Connect it backwards and you'll split your line voltage. So if you have 120V, you'll get 2x60V. That's just about perfect for the Leach Superamp!!!!!! One transformer per channel!!!
yeah, i didnt think of it that way, but i guess they are just ratio multipliers, so you can go 2:1, 1:2, 4:1 or so on...
so, how much do you think they are worth then? they seem unused and in perfect condition...
i have far too many projects as is.

hehe, yeah that would be nice. pop two of those into a nice chassis and make a 8-12 outlet power conditioner. too bad i get furman power conditioners at 75% off, so it would cost me more to built one probably.
eh, they will go up for sale in a few days here as soon as i get some free time. i still need to know how much to charge for them though.

A new 1.2KVA trafo is something like 120USD, so if you divide that by 1.5 to 2 you wouldn't be totally off the mark.
