I'm semi new to this stuff but I just got a Kenwood KT-5500 tuner and was wondering what kind of amp to buy, should I go with an amp from the same era? are there any to stay away from?
Thanks
Robert
Thanks

what are you going to be using it for and what type of speakers and how many.....that is a big question with lots of viable answers
If it fits your needs power wise you might consider the amp that matches your tuner. There are always plenty of them at reasonable prices on ebay.
I would suggest you work your decision from the other end, i.e., what kind of amp works best with your speakers, listening space and listening habits. I don't see where matching it to your tuner by era would have any benefits except for visual aesthetics.

I think this approach is too time consuming for your needs and you probably don't have access to a lot of different amps to try out.
The Kenwood amps from this era are excellent amps and I'm sure you'll be happy as a clam with one of them.
Thanks Bill!
Kenwood sounds good to me too!
You cant expect a novice to know how to match speakers to an amp I mean really. How about alittle explanation to go with it??

Unless the quality of FM is better in your area than I've experienced most places, the priority is that it be cheap. No point throwing money at FM.
