I'm not asking about IR remotes, I currently run MPD on a linux server and have not found a satisfactory remote for this for any of my Android devices. So I use my laptop and run Cantata as this seems to be the only good remote, especially graphically.
Would love to hear what other people use to control their MPD based systems.
I have another system in my kitchen, based on the raspberry pi. For this system I really needed Android device control so I've ended up installing rasplex and have hifiberry dac. The raspberri Pi then just accesses all the music that exists on my main linux server.
Would like to go back to Volumio on the Pi (although I do love plex for other media) but I'm still left needing a good Android remote for Volumio (MPD) that functions and looks good.....

You've tried MoOde...? That would seem to fit your requirements admirably....

Apple TV remote does not work with mpd I believe, do you use Web interface to control moode or a dedicated app?

Web interface so it works with all android devices. For offline use you can even set the pi with a local ap.
