what dac would i need for the marantz cd6003... i use usb all the time. and would like to try a dac to upsample the music to 24bit if possible... looking at dacmagic and breneford dacs... cheers all lee

i need some good speaker cables and interconecters and i have about £150-£200 for a dac.. i am using yaqin 100b valve amp and xiang sheng preamp 728a and marantz cd 6003 cd player with monitor audio gr20... cheers lee
In my humble opinion, I think you should visit your local dealer and find out if you can audition some cables - go for good interconnects - something like Van Den Hul or some equivalent. However if your mind is set on a dac check out this site for some suggestions.

The answer is none - you don't need a DAC for that player as it contains its own DAC. Perhaps this is why nobody answered the question. Assuming the player has the usual SPDIF output then an alternative answer is 'any DAC which supports SPDIF' (i.e. almost any DAC). I don't understand your reference to USB; maybe someone else will.
If for some reason you wish to use an alternative DAC then you could either ask for people's preferences or say why you want to use an external DAC.
