warming up thetubes

hey guys, when I first plug into my amp it sounds like crap with the volume low, but better with the volume up. BUT, when I play continuously for a while the amp just starts to wail, does it usually take 15 mins or so to warm up the tubes? its aguitar amp btw

most of my amps take a minute at best to warm up.

sounds more like a b+ problem or cap or resister not sure i dont have it in front of me 😉

I have a KECL82 from WAd and find it sounds better after about 20 minutes of playing, when the valves are evenly warmed (nothng to do with filaments, 30 secs and it's up and running 🙂 )

When it comes to sound generating equipment, I like to fire-up mine 30 to 40 minutes before using them.

I have to agree. The normal heater warmup time is around 11 seconds. All my stuff sounds great after 5 min. I haven't really paid attention to the time. Do not leave the stuff on 24/7. That's just not smart at all.
