Hi all,
I am working on a design that needs a small-signal MOSFET and I have a bunch of NOS VN2410(A)'s that would fit perfectly. But they are in a vintage metal TO-92 case (one pin connected to the case) instead of the common plastic TO92.
Does anyone per chance know the pinout of that case? Looks like TO-39 or TO-66

Jon, yes, but the pin-out is not really the same. The pins are in a semi-circle and one is connected to the metal case. I have found other similar and it appears the pin connected to the metal case should be the drain.
I could then guess that the middle is the gate, but I'd rather have some confirmation of that.
Maybe I should just measure it.

If you remember the metal cased BC107/9 series, the pinout is the same as the plastic version. So, looking from under the FET, in a semicircle (smily face chin shape) the pin out is; Source, Gate, Drain.
That is the standard of FETs and Transistors of this era.
Hope this helps.

Yes it did help, and you were spot on. VN2410 now happily current sourcing away 😉
Muchas Gracias and have a great weekend!
