Hi, I saw this vinyl and tube amp system advertised today and wondered if there are software filters for audio streaming that replicate the distortion of records and tube amps?

Google says there are quite a few commercial plugins for this kind of effect, for vinyl at least. Adding a percent or two of 2nd and 3rd harmonic distortion isn't too difficult, but since its a non-linear operation standard convolution engines won't do it.


So why would you want to make the SQ a lot worse?
