I'll answer anyway.
On a VCR, when the video head is gone, that is usually the end of the line. It is very expensive to replace.
Even when VCRs were far more expensive than they are now, replacing a video head was rarely done because of the expense involved.
I don't know the present price of VCRs in India, but in America they are getting incredibly cheap. Have seen 2 head models for $35, and a friend just bought a 4 head, hi fi stereo model for $60. With those prices, repair seems a little silly.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
The replacement would cost me about Rupees 600 (US $ 12 approx) while a new set will set me back by about Rupees 10000. So don't you think it is worthwhile to replace the head?
There is a request. Would you mind posting in the ``video cassette player'' topic in the video fourm so that the whole discussion can be in the same place. Thanks.
