Have new quarter wave boxes ready to go but must put polyfill in prior to cllosing them up. Wal-Mart has high density and low density material for sale. Anyone know which is the one to use?? I am to cheap to buy Acoustuff !!!!

HELP -HELP

:hot:

Good idea - I have one pound of Acousta-stuff but need just under 2lbs total for ttwo boxes. Which should I buy ??High or Low Density. Your reply made me homesick for Sea Girt ,Point Pleasant Beach, Lavelette etc. etc. BORN and raised in that wonderful world.

Sandstorm,

I recommend low density Polyfil for mixing with Acousta-Stuf. Since you already have 1 Lb of Stuf, mix it with 1 Lb od Polyfil, and devide it equally between the two boxes.

BTW, are you doing a TL, MLTL, or what? I have some knowledge of TL's.

I am an audio engineer for a car stereo company in Eatontown, close to Ft. Monmouth.

I have friends living in Point Pleasant and Sea Girt. I moved up here from Mobile, AL almost five years ago.

I know the area well, my x has a lovely house and all my money in Little Silver. Thanks for your good advice .. The Box is quarter wave tube ported at one end based on an article in AUDIOXPRESS by Rick Schutlz. I am using a Peerless HDS 830882 unit with an Audax TMo2oj5 Titanium 3/4" tweeter. I'm a retired EE who has or used to be anyway heavy into DIY audio .Old Heath , Tigers , Electro Voice , Hafler , Borbley . Never ever bought a commercial piece of audio equipment. (I Think?).

Sounds like the makings of a fine speaker system.

Rick Shultz and I have coresponded over the years. He and I had some good discussions back in the days when I owned Mahogany Sound.

Where do you live in AZ? I have family in Tucson, but my wife and I love it up around Sedona.
