I know some series of B&W had problems with the tweeter, my 802 where one of them.
B&W kindly upgraded the tweeter for free.
Don't ask me when or how, I bought mine second hand and the seller told me what I'm telling you here.
Years later, two woofers were broken, I replaced them and I must say they were utterly expensive but well worth it.
Perhaps, a kind talk to B&W would get you an upgrade if you have the same series as I have. Just try to find the right person and benevolently ask what could be done....
