The gentleman who used to provide affordable aluminum chassis for tube amps , his shop burned down and he has expressed little desire to rebuild. So, for those of you who miss Brian....
I am providing aluminum chassis in various sizes. Right now, I have 8 inches wide and 2 inches tall. The lengths are 19 inches, 17, 16, and 15 inches. In the near future, I will have 6-1/2-inches wide and 2-3/4 inches tall in 19, 17, and 27 inches long. All chassis can come prefitted with an IEC socket, allowing you to use a standard computer power cord. The socket can be placed at either end. I can also do some milling. For example, if you use the "lay-down" style of transformer which requires a big rectangular cutout in the metal, or if you want to use rocker switches. Custom sizes are an option and will soon be available with a rapid turnaround. For those of you building guitar amps, I offer heavy gage angle aluminum reinforcement of the corners on the INSIDE. This stiffens up the chassis considerably.
I have noticed that wood and metal chassis that are available are rather plain and overpriced. I'm going to be offering more attractive options with beautiful hardwoods.
I will provide kits based on EL34 and GU50 (pentodes). If you prefer beam tetrodes, I will substitute, but I highly recommend the pentodes for audiophile. Power amps only.
Here are a few quotes from many email exchanges between myself and a gentleman whom I assisted through a tube-amp build.
"Sonically however, they're like night and day. The EL34s are brighter and the bass tighter and more articulate. I never knew snare drums had ummm, sustain? No longer do snare drums sound like "splat", but more like "SNAPssssss" with a touch of reverb. Bass guitar notes are a new experience as well, they're definitely tighter and more controlled with a buttery smoothness. Rush's "YYZ" from Moving Pictures and Boz Scaggs' "Lido Shuffle" are two of my favorite test tunes and don't fail to impress.
Yea, I'd say that the bass has met my expectations - it's certainly tighter and more controlled....
I'm quite proud of what you've helped me build, and I show it off to everyone I can. I've resisted posting to the forums as I know it would lead to a lot of probing questions and schematic requests. A great part of this amp is your intellectual property and I respect that...
The main reason I decided to scratch-build is because I shopped around and just knew I could get more for less. The other part of the equation is that a lot of the fun for me is designing, sourcing and making the parts... "
So, if you are considering a tube amp kit and have the soldering skills, and you don't want an "entry-level" (mediocre) amp, I would be happy to assist. The circuit is easy to build and easy to understand.

The first photo is IEC socket with fuse, that's why it's bigger. The second is standard IEC socket. They can be placed wherever a customer desires.

17-inch model is $26, the 19-inch is $27. Add 4 dollars if you want the IEC socket included (with or without fuse - same price). Please note, it's actually a fuse HOLDER. End user will put in whatever value fuse he/she deems appropriate. It just slides in in a little drawer, kinda nifty.
Shipping is $16 priority anywhere in the country.
Anyone who is comfortable with working with me outside of ebay can have the socket included at no charge. Ebay is going to take that much from me anyway in fees.

Shipping costs to other countries probably makes this not feasible. Nevertheless, if it isn't a huge pain to ship to whatever country any potential customer may reside in, I'll certainly consider doing so. Just be aware, it costs.

I see you are from Canada. I inquired as to cost to ship one from here to Ontario province, and the cost for priority about doubled to 32 or 34 dollars. I can do slow shipping to Canada and that shaves almost 10 dollars off that cost. So, please be aware of that. Shipping is what it is because of the size of the package, not the weight. It becomes more cost effective for the pro amp builder who might order 2 or 3 at a time.

I forgot to mention, the next batch is going to be with deeper walls, 2.75-inch, and narrower tops (6-1/2-inch). If anyone wants a custom length and lets me know before the sheet gets sheared up, I am more than happy to accommodate.
