How to make a Transparent Audio Reference XL Speaker Cable
can anyone tell me the purpose of that network in a cable and what influence it has?
The real howler: 12k$ for a speaker cable.....

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Its a filter network. Oddly, it works by taking stuff OUT of the signal. You pay more, you get less!!!
pfft. Much better to put a Bybee quantum in the line. Better still if you use two, one on each wire. So thats four, except if you are running a HT system, in which case its 12, or possibly 16.
More is better, especially when you are talking transfer of wealth from one audioph..l to a certified nuclear secret holding Bentley driver.

I know that too - but I really don't have the knowledge to calculate what frequencies are affected and by how much.
I know there are a lot of guys here who can do the math in their heads...

Knock yourself out...
filter looks about right to attenuate vhf to uhf rf signals like public safety and cellular effectively
It looks like a lowpass with a zobel. Maybe in some urban areas it could be effective?
But why the impedance correction - isn't that usually part of the crossover design?
