Hello...I have purchased a 12v TPA3116 amplifier to bluetooth music to the 4ohm speakers in the etype I'm renovating. Testing it on a spare car battery has demonstrated it is perfect for my needs. The problem is the car is +ve earth and I want to know if the TPA3116 is likely to "fry" if grounded that way??
I'm not keen to convert the car to -ve earth as it would affect other +ve earth equipment already installed.
Advice much appreciated
Regards Graham.

I was thinking about this...
If you have an amplifier and Bluetooth receiver operating on 12 volts then I wouldn't have thought it mattered as long as you keep the audio set up as a separate isolated entity.
In other words nothing in connection with the amplifier set up (including speakers) must electrically connect to the cars chassis apart from the positive supply connections to the amplifier and BT module.
Your set up worked when connected to a spare battery. Transfer that same set up to two wires in the car that have a 12 volt supply on them and the amplifier is none the wiser, it doesn't care.
Would it more prone to interference... I dunno, you would have to try it.
