tone control (bass & treble)
I was wondering how diy'ers implement tone control, both bass and treble? Is the LM1036 any good? Any other recommendations?
thx, Thomas

It is not high end, but I find it ok, used it in a chipamp amplifier for my daughter Kimberly.
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

search google for baxandall tone control and also check out Rod Elliot's project 97. The performance of this type of circuit will easily better that of the LM1036.
The downside of the baxandall type is that you need to use hard-to-find dual-ganged linear pots if you want to control both channels with one dial. Otherwise you can just use 4 normal linear pots (bass and treble each for two channels).
