Hi, I received the turntable after it has been in storage for 5 years. The belt has been left on. How do I go about checking if the belt is still okay? I am from South Africa and resources and help are not easy to come by. Any suggestions i.e. original bet lenght?

Hi pmeyer,
I can`t give You advise in how to check if the belt is still okay.
But in case You have to replace it, I know that Thorens still carry replacement parts (BTW: for very reasonable and fair money) for those "old" turntables (a year ago I have ordered parts for my brothers TD 126MKIII).

The belt should be taut... if it is at all loose it could really use replacement.
If you can't find a belt, my local hifi dealer stocks them... i'd expect it would be in the neighboorhood of $15 USD post paid.
