100 Watt in andMad_K said:How about something like this?
Any comments would be much appreciated...🙄
how much out?
/halo - is not too tempted - sorry 🙂
And the Voltage gainMad_K said:if my thinking is correct it's something like 20W peak and 10W rms😕
seems a little low
1 ohm /? = a little

AWwww... There you got me!
🙁
How about if you make a stock SOZ with, say +/- 12V rails?
It'll give you about 2,5W/ch and dissipate about 50W/ch..
You could even use air-cooled resistors and to220 devices. 😉

i think +/- 12V rails will get you a little closer to 5 watts?
at least that's what i'm hoping!
just skimming the SOZ article on the Pass DIY site and i saw this:
"voltage ranges from about plus and minus fifteen volts for a five
watt output"
So i guess it looks like my transformers are only going to give
me about 3 to 4 watts... which is ok with me, i have very
sensitive speakers (you have to talk real nicely to them!)
I have 250VA with +/- 12 volt secondaries, one for each channel.
i hope this will qualify as a TRUE SOZ? 😉

Mads, are you still in the planning stages for yours?

with 12VAC secondaries you'll get 14-15VDC, so you're good! Ofcourse it's a TRUE SOZ!!!😉
5W it will give you, no prob!
Yes, I'm simulating like crazy on my new SOZ, but haven't figured out how the voltage gain is calculated yet. The rest if it I have pretty much nailed down. I will be spending a lot of good parts on this one (except coils in the psu).

I have a SOZ with 12V secondaries. I guess it has 5w looking at passlabs charts.
The proposed miniSOZ is basically the same that nelson published isnt it? I reaaly dont know much of this, but I see only minor resistor changes and unbalanced input.

i have to say seeing Pedro's SOZ made me really
want to build one finally. Oh yeah, and also finding
some heat sinks that were up to the job! : )
hopefully pictures in a couple of weeks or so

It's the same, but I'm trying to squeese it to fit the parts I have in the junk-box.. Maybe I'll end up with the original values anyways..
Unbalanced SOZ 🙄
No, I haven't drawn any in/outputs in that sch.
SOZ is the KING
