Hello everyone,
i want to make myself a valve amp but i don't know which i should replicate!!
What amp do you think i should clone?
Could you suggest any schematics for this project?

What level experience, what kind of parts do you have?
Read some of the "stickys" on safety first.
What can you afford to spend?

I'll do it with my father who has more than 20 years of experience in this electronics field.
Safety isn't an issue, thanks for your concern anyway!! 🙂
We do not have spare parts, but this wouldn't be a problem too.
We are talking about an amp for 20-20KHz and 75-150 wpc!

Why do you need 75-100W?
In a normal size room 25Wper channel will make you shout to be heard!
Remember the speaker sensitivity is more important than the amp power...
If you are driving a wet sponge speaker then OK 200W...if its light and delicate the 10W will be two loud..
Don't think car hifi amp....

What range of money are you talking about Steve?
So, if it is too expensive for 150wpc, then how much can you estimate for 75-80wpc?

Here ya go. Just don't stand to close to it.

Build one for left and right, you'll be golden.

I would consider 20WPC to be "decent" sized tube amp.
These are real watts, not overrated "peak" solid state watts.
Good efficient speakers are key.

Or dead. 2.5kV ain't no joke.
Cool amp though.
Actually I was joking!
I sold my 813 tubes because I'm scared of them lol.
Try this, you can always build a bigger on should you feel the need.

Hmm seems very interesting from a quick view, but the power is way too much!!!
I'm just curious but what is the distortion for this monster? 😛
Any good idea for 50wpc?

I'm driving a pair of 90 db eff. speakers with a 5 wpc SE amplifier.
It's loud enough to be heard all through the house!
Try building an RH84 amplifier.
LOTS of information about that amplifier on-line.
Unless you purchase TOTL transformers, caps, etc., it's around $300 from soup-to- nuts.

I second that, I just built one two, sounds nice.
lol "soup to nuts"
OK, decision! 50wpc and it is final!
My speakers have 87db sensitivity...
I would really appreciate it, if you could give me an estimation of the cost and a good schematic!!

Wow, 50W is still fairly big. I have 87db speakers and I'm using a 3W SET.
I'd suggest you consider a push-pull amplifier topology operating in Class AB1, wit the first 5W or so in Class A.
If you have a generous budget, use a good quality interstage transformer as the phase splitter. For output tubes, consider KT88's.
If cost is an issue, reducing your power requirements will help, maybe use 6V6 output tubes. Don't skimp on the output transformer for best sound quality.

You beat me to it. lol now I got to edit this.
I think the other poster meant 5wpc.
It varies, I would see what you could get for output transformers and go from there. Could get pricey as you can't exactly harvest a pair from an old console.
If you need the extra grunt I would build a "push-pull" amp rather then a "single ended" amp. Research the differences.
If you look at the amp in my avatar, I'm guessing it's maybe ~20wpc. It will absolutely take your head off. I don't think you realize how loud they are. Seriously.
Nothing wrong with aiming high and falling short, I just I think you would get more enjoyment from a completed project.

Are you absolutely sure that for this kind of speakers 5W is enough???
They seem a bit low and weak...
Unfortunately i'm not wealthy, so i don't want it to be very expensive.
