I do not know if I am in the right place for this. I have spent the last three weeks listening to a used Nakamichi SR-3A receiver in my system.
I have used separate components to drive my dirty old Dalquist DQ10's.
My input is an 80s well played Koetsu rosewood cart and the Dynavector DV6a transformer. What I have to say is Thank you Mr. Pass.
I have driven the DQ10s with many amplifiers. Dyna 400, Ampzilla, Crown, Leach, McIntosh, Marantz, Hafler. The SR-3A, rated at 45 watt per channel surpassed all of them. The clarity and instrument placement is amazing. The bottom (not that the DQ10s have any) could be heard for the first time. My biggest complaint is that I have a 50's mono Brubeck that is so forward that it blows me off my chair. Even the MC stage took the veil away that the DV6A had been inserting all these years.
I say Thank You again from an old 71 year fool, I just wish I found this unit 20 years ago!!!!

Wrong Pass, sorry, I thought you had licensed the Stassis amp to be used in the SR series receiver amplifier. My Bad!!!

Freddy -- A few years ago I set up a system for my sister-in-law, and I built it around the SR-3A. It really is a fantastic sounding receiver, I'm not surprised you are enamored with it. 😀 😀 😀
my best friend also has one of those receivers which he's had forever, driving some small electrostatics.
he says you have to pry it from his cold, dead hands and even then he might not give it up.

One detail in that schematic is that if the pot wiper gets dirty the bias will
take off. Better to have it between the Base and Emitter with a limiting
resistor in series.
