TEAC DSH01 experience?

I'd like like to connect the latest and the previous generation of iPods (30 pin and 8 pin) to my preamplifier. I don't want to use the analog output. It looks like the TEAC will work with the 30 pin, and I think it may work with the new 8 pin with an adapter cable.

Does anyone have any experience with this or have other ideas?
