Tannoy LRM 12 rotary switches

Good morning,
Unfortunately I broke the shaft from 1 of the rotary switches on the crossover.
Who can tell me the both types of rotary switches (positions, poles)?
The current rotary switches are from the Lorlin brand.
Are the shafts changeable without de-soldering?

Many thanks in advance for the replies!

Maybe an image of the LRM12 crossover and rear of the pcb would help.

Here is a link to some info for the old 12" and 15" crossovers. They had a 2pole 5way and single pole 4 way according to that diagram.

See Here: http://www.troelsgravesen.dk/MG15-problem.htm

Possibly you could you use a volume control shaft extender i.e. a collar with two small screws that allow you to link an extension shaft to a rotary volume control or switch? This would probably mean that the selector control pokes out to far, but maybe with a bit of ingenuity ?

Replacement Lorlin switches should be available, note that the recent ones may have slightly smaller solder pins than ones from years ago and you will have to carefully verify pin orientations to make sure they are a drop in replacement if PCB mounted.

R.,
I trink you are right: 5 pos. and 2 pole, 4 Pos. and 1 pole.
I know the article of Troels. I would be careful to apply his filter to a MG15 because he tends to filter as flat as possible and therefore kill the Original character.
Hereby the pictures of the XO.
Thanks in Advance for your reply.

I was wrong, wasn't I.

Your pcb has a 5 posn 2 pole and 4 posn 2 pole.

If you can see the Lorlin part Number on the top face its should be easy to pick up a replacement. If you cannot read the part No. a look at the lorlin data sheets should allow you to find the right replacement switch. Pay careful attention to the alignment of the poles with the contacts to prevent ordering a switch that doesn't fit the PCB if you cannot easily see the Part No.

Hi, no p/n shown on the top face. I checked the Lorlin data sheets and 2/4 and 2/5 are Not standard. I contacted Lorlin or they can supply them but i don’t expect anything… I try to repair the shaft with a metal insert (only epoxy doesn’t work).
Thanks anyway for your support!

At the linked RS webpage they have access to the the manufacturers data sheet.

For an exact replacement you need to decode this in terms of the poles and the correct orientation 30 degrees etc.

If you are good with the soldering iron maybe remove it and you should be able to get the part No. and see the detent pin if fitted.
