What do we know about the W6-1914SB? I ran across this 6in honeycomb diaphragm neodymium motor midrange today. I looked at the response curve and it seems wide and flat and with decent sensitivity. I think it won’t make much bass but could be a good top for a FAST/WAW.

Is it the high price that’s keeping folks disinterested in this driver?
$139 is not all that high for something with a wide and flat bandwidth like this. Cast aluminum frame, neodymium magnets, high tech composite honeycomb diaphragm, etc., make for a more expensive than usual full range.
Tang Band W6-1914SB 6" Sandwich Cone Midrange Driver
A 1.5L sealed rear chamber allows F3 of 180Hz. Perfect range for a FAST.
It’s been called a poor man’s Accuton midbass. 🙂

Nice looking driver with a good frame and matching cover. Response looks well behaved, some bumps out of my hearing range. I’d probably buy one if available in my region. It would be difficult to overlook the value and performance of the W5-2143 though in comparison.
You would have similarly availability issues for the W5-2143. I agree that the 2143 cannot be overlooked. I feel that the 1914SB is more suited for a FAST whereas the 2143 is more a true full range down to the bass region of 50Hz.
