Tang Band FR Project Using A Titanium Driver

I lurk over at P.E. and mostly so because those guys aren't real big on full range.

They don't care much for OB, IB, TL or horns either.

Just my opinion , and I do like design, but they are XO crazy. Part of my motivation to FR came from not understanding much regards XO's but most because I found I liked the sound of FR drivers as is. Simply seems cleaner and more open to me.

Simple over there is 10 XO components and guys are already lauding that design as 'the way' FR is 'supposed' to be built. Someone will redo it with 8 more components to 'improve' it.

I'm running 3 sets of speakers here right now that I haven't even put caps on yet. I will eventually.

Different strokes.

I'm about ready to start a FR project. I've been listening to Maggie MMGs for the last 5 years and never had the desire to change. They are that good.

However, lately my interests are such that I want to experiment with a FR design and a 2 way design. I'm mulling over the possibilty of buying a 2-way PE speaker kit then using the same boxes to install a FR design. Fortunately, PE boxes have interchangable baffles so I think I can pull it off with no problems.

I want to listen to 3 different designs, Planar, FR and a 2-way. Who knows; this may blossom into a new DIY hobby for me!

Hello,

the "paper" variation, W4-1320 ist tested in
Klang+Ton as one of the best 4" ever coming out from TB.

The Titan ist a bit more expensive and has a louder top end,
needed for distances over 4 m, below IMO the 1320 is enough.

My opinion is to use it in a double horn without
crossover down to 34 Hz,

like my KORNETT
