I might be able to get my hands on a pair of Sundown U-18 d2 subs for $200-$250 each. Would be very similar price to SI HT-18.
In sealed 3.5cu.ft. each for each sub, would there be much difference in SQL?
I have come to understand that both brands under-rate power handling, and the Sundown is rated at 1500w vs 750 for the SI, but would only be feeding them total 1200w RMS anyway. And this would be for an automobile application.
Thanks.

Both of them subs have high Qts which aligns better with ported boxes... big ones. SI HT -18 is designed for Home Theater and the U-18D2 is more of a SPL beast not so much SQ. Not saying they do cant do SQ or sealed boxes but there will have to be compromises made to achieve it.
Hmmm. I always thought high Qts was better suited to sealed or IB and low Qts was better for ported. The Vas on the Sundown looks lower so I thought might get better response from a box around 3-4 cubes. Granted, neither of these look like they are intended for a small box application.
