Hello, just after some thoughts about replacing the cartridge or stylus as I think that my Roksan Corus black cartridge has well and truly been worked over the years. Purchased a Michell Synchro with a Rega RB 300 arm and the Roksan second hand many years ago. Don't know how much use it had before hand.
I'm thinking strongly about buying a new Goldring 1042 stylus. Mainly because of the favourable reviews, the fact that I can fit into the Roksan cartridge and the price.
I'm running a Cyrus 2 with a PSX & Opera Duetto speaker's. Mainly listening to rock and indy music and have been really pleased with the Roksan. The Silver replacement is too costly. However I've heard that the Cyrus has a good MC stage and was wondering should I consider a MC cartridge? The cost of the Goldring is £165.00 and that is pretty much the top end of my budget. Will add I've never heard a MC cartridge and not even sure how good it is on the Cyrus. Any comments most welcome. Cheers
