I'll try to borrow a camera so I can show you my setup
The only thing that I don't like is that my top fresnel is bowed, so I get a little curved picture. But it's not really noticable when I watch the dvds. I doesn't have hot spots, heat problem, and I can see the whole lcd, so I don't care about the curved picture lol!

And I found a solution for that, I'll take 2 plexiglass sheet and sandwitch the top fresnel between them, and bolt them in the 4 corners.
yeah it was.
The curved picture was present with fresnel glued, but it was less visible. Like I tough, since light pass in the lcd evently, it doesn't make the center heat like glued does. With the table fan it's just perfect. The side where the fans blow is cold! the other side is a little warm. And I can see the entire lcd
And corners doesn't focus too well since it's bowed, but I don't really care.
With my setup, I don't have to raise my projection lens or lower the light, and my bottom fresnel is 9" exactly from the light. Focus like a charm.
And like I said, if I sandwitch it between 2 plexis, my bowed top fresnel will be flat like a paper sheet. So.. All problems solve, and any problems remaning!

I'm looking for a digital camera, but no one I know have one. I think I'll take real picture and scan them after!
In less than 2 weeks, I promise pictures!

The 3 last pics shows results, a bit blury but it's because of the camera. The one that is the more blury is because I didn't pause the dvd!

hehe, the pictures where taken at 5h pm, so couldn't do much more thant that, and there's light leakage from my setup.
The camera wasn't mine so I wont be able to take more.

Nice pictures of your setup, get a tripod and turn off the lights! Thats the best way to get quality pics of your setup. I can't wait to get my stuff going and take pics of everything. One of my main hobbies is photography so I hope to get some real good shots up 🙂
Don't disappear! Keep us updated on what you're doing. Do you have an enclosure to prevent light leakage? You'll probably get better contrast/etc. if you do.
GJ gui,
Btw how much distance do you have between the fresnels and the LCD? And how hot does it get?

the lights were off lol, look at one of the result pics, you can see the light from the exterior.
For the light leakage.. I'll paint the back of the plexi, and glue cardboard panel to block it.
For the distance between the lcd and fresnel.. It's about ½" on both side.

You really have to watch when posting pictures. No one has posted good pics yet except for YWH... which is why everyone thinks he's the only one that can do this right!
If the pictures dont come out good....
Dont post them 🙂
I'm not trying to be an ******* here... but I didnt see any results with the pictures you posted.

I think you should post some picture even if they are bad. There's always a lot to learn from other peole mistakes and success
But thats my point... theres too many mistake pictures already posted! Your not going to learn anything new if you keep referring to mistake photos.
